ARA technology ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information in the operation of WhisperApp ("the Software") and the WhisperApp website ("the Site"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information in the following situations:

(1) License Purchase

  • ・Email address (for license key delivery and support)
  • ・Payment information (credit card details, etc.) — processed directly by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your card information

(2) License Activation

  • ・License key
  • ・Machine code (a hash derived from hardware identifiers)

Note: The machine code is generated by hashing five hardware identifiers (CPU, motherboard, etc.). Raw hardware information is not transmitted.

(3) Support Inquiries

  • ・Email address
  • ・Name (optional)
  • ・Inquiry content

(4) Free Trial Usage

  • ・Machine code (a hash derived from hardware identifiers) — used to verify trial status

Note: During the free trial period, the machine code is sent to our server on each app launch to verify the trial expiration. This communication does not occur after the trial period ends or after a license is purchased.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Apart from license activation and free trial verification, the Software is designed to operate locally. The following data is never sent to our servers:

  • ・Audio data or transcription results
  • ・AI chat conversations
  • ・Usage statistics (telemetry or analytics)
  • ・Operation history or error logs

Exception: When a user voluntarily uses the in-app "Send Feedback" feature, only the following diagnostic information is sent to the developer after the user reviews the content on a preview screen before submission: app version, OS information, GPU/CPU/RAM information, backend name and model name, machine code (an anonymous hardware-specific identifier), license type (trial/standard/pro), error messages and stack traces, performance metrics such as processing times, and a history of operation names (content is not included). Audio files, transcription results, chat history, license keys, usernames in file paths, and filenames are never transmitted, even when submitting feedback.

3. Purpose of Use

We use the collected personal information solely for the following purposes:

  • ・Issuing and delivering license keys
  • ・License authentication and management
  • ・Providing product update information
  • ・Responding to support inquiries
  • ・Service improvement (limited to statistical aggregation)

4. Third-Party Disclosure

We do not provide your personal information to third parties except in the following cases:

  • ・With your consent
  • ・As required by law

We entrust personal information handling to the following service providers to the extent necessary for service operation:

  • ・Stripe, Inc. (payment processing)
  • ・Resend, Inc. (email delivery)
  • ・Cloudflare, Inc. (website hosting and API server)

5. Security Measures

We implement the following security measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or destruction of personal information:

  • ・Encrypted communications (HTTPS/TLS)
  • ・Access controls (API keys, webhook signature verification)
  • ・Data minimization (collecting and retaining only the minimum necessary information)
  • ・Hardware information hashing (irreversible transformation to prevent recovery of original data)

6. Disclosure, Correction, and Deletion

You have the right to request disclosure, correction, or deletion of your personal information held by us. Please contact us through the inquiry channel below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe after verifying your identity.

7. Cookies

The Site uses minimal cookies (for theme and language preferences only). We do not use cookies for analytics or tracking purposes.
